I caught a few moments of her outside… she wanted to build a snowman, but we didn’t really have that much snow. But I did convince her to make a little arm snow angel:

Just when we thought Jordan’s was healthy, she continues to have tummy troubles. Last week, she spiked a horrible fever mixed with having a hard time keeping medicine down. It was super sad. She came around last weekend a little, but had another fallback and missed school on Monday. It was ANOTHER missed day of school. I knew she wasn’t going to make it in on Tuesday and Wednesday because we had a blizzard move through.

Luckily, her health was really coming back around just in time for the next round of snow storms. This time mother nature took it up a notch… A blizzard that dumped 17.5 inches on our town in 19 hours. I was working non-stop from home while the kids played. They didn’t get to go outside until the next day.

Jordan was amazed! It was super deep everywhere she went. I had to go to work, so I didn’t get to capture her entire time out in the snow… But I know she thought it was awesome. The only thing she wished was snow that was really good at snowballs. (Our inches and inches of snow were pretty dry.)

The good news? Miss Jordan is getting back to eating normally again. We’re still taking it easy. I’m really looking forward to her tummy getting back to normal permanently! Not to mention, she needs to eat constantly for a month to get back to her normal weight!

It isn’t the largest amount I’ve ever seen… but it was quite possibly the deepest Jordan’s ever been around. She had a pretty hard time walking through it… and that’s when we figured out her snow pants are two sizes too small.

Yup. This 5T girl was wearing a 3T pair of snow pants. I guess I never checked because it fit just fine… Until the snow was so deep, it was pouring into her boots. I guess we’ve had enough snow storms at this point… I might want to get her a pair of pants that fit!

Thanks to snowy boots, she made it out two short times. She was willing to go out a second time after I got the snow out. But when a boot filled up with snow a second time, she’d had enough. Luckily I caught her having fun trying to swim in the snow (it seemed easier than walking). She also goofed around a bit with her brother.

I woke up with a little girl begging to get her boots on and head out into the snow. So that’s just what both kids did. Jordan and her brother jumped in and ran around in the cold snow and didn’t mind the brisk wind that makes it pretty uncomfortable out there.

Best moment today: Both kids jumped in and enjoyed creating a bunch of snow angels. Giggles, laughter and little arm angels. I love it.

So when I plopped Jordan onto a sled yesterday, she ended up riding in an old-school wooden sled that we just let go. No steering, just sliding. She ended up hitting a curb and flew out onto the snow. I ran down to make sure she was okay. And she was giggling and telling me how AWESOME it was to go so fast.
The kids and I rushed through the morning get-ready process so we could play in the snow before walking Cam to school. Jordan was wary at first: I pulled her in the sled for a while. Then she got brave and walked around. She also enjoyed our walk to school. After all the kids were in school, we had a really nice quiet walk home. The snow left such a quiet feel to our neighborhood. The only sound you could hear was the crunching of my boots in the snow. I pointed it out to Jordan and she said: “Shhhhhh.” I think she really enjoyed the silence. There’s a special beauty that comes with the first snow of the season. It was cool to have the time to really experience it with Jordan. As she gets closer to her second birthday, I’m eating up her understanding of vocabulary and her growing ability to communicate back.

After our quiet, snowy morning, I took Jordan to meet a new little baby girl named Avery. I’m not sure how impressed Jordan was by the experience, but Jordan did say hi and we discussed how babies say “waah waah.”

I picked her up at school today and she rushed over to the window yelling: “Nooo! Noooo, Mommy!” Yes, “no” means “snow” in Jordan speak. She was very excited…

Until I tried to get her outside to see the “no.” She said the other NO after she felt the cold wind that came with the “no.” I danced around in the flurry to show her how cool it was, but she wasn’t that interested. I picked her up, ran around in the snow until a flake or two hit her face. I’m not sure which she thought was funny – the snow or her mommy.

I’m probably guessing it was me.

Oh my gosh! I almost forgot about another little tidbit: Jordan is all about saying the prayer before dinner. She holds out her hand and arm and we all close our eyes and you can hear her say, “Goh eh gate, goh eh goo eh uh eh uh eh uh. YAY!” The was all says Amen and YAY! What she’s trying to say: God is great, God is good. Let us thank him for our food.

Sooooo sweet.

She was reaching for her daddy’s wallet and remotes… and she pushed up enough to stand! Then I started putting all kinds of things she wanted onto the table. She didn’t think I was very funny.

She’s been at work late the last two days. She is really enjoying the many students, reporters, producers and web folks. And she’s showed me that she really would enjoy producing a newscast. She loves hanging out in the producer pod area. She’s become the fastest one-handed typing producer in the world. Very fun.

We have snow again… And it appears to be the fun, packing snow. So I’m looking forward to a fun in the snow day with Cam and hopefully Jordan if she’s interested. I am finally getting our house back in order from months of disarray. We’re planning a Super Bowl party, so the house needs to get in control at some point. Today I made headway… So that makes me feel a little better. We actually have empty clothes baskets so we can fill them with more clean clothes!
