One of those moments

Jordan took this picture.

I’m an expressive person. Just ask anyone who has spent any amount of time with me and he or she will tell you I am passionate and at times loud. A part of my expression comes from my forehead. I move it in all kinds of directions… happy or sad… or mad.

So fast forward to a conversation I was having with Jordan.

She had crawled up onto my lap and was feeling my face. She starts rubbing my forehead and declares: “Those are your mad bumps and those are your happy bumps.”

Kid interpretation: I have wrinkles. And they’re starting to get obvious thanks to my nonstop facial expressions.

I think it’s sweet… and I might need to go do some kind of¬†rejuvenation¬†facial mask.

They are not wrinkles… those are evidence you have lived and expressed yourself!

You are soooo not old or wrinkly! You have beautiful skin!

And kids say the darnedest things. My 3-year-old cousin Luke asked me if I was 50 and then proceeded to ask if I was my sister’s “mommy”.

Silly kids! Thanks Caitlin. I never figured I’d be a vain person as I grow older… but dang, mad and happy bumps. Too freaking funny.

It happens to the best of us. Wrinkles, that is.
