After attending Camp No Limits, there was a lot of discussion about how we do everything we can to make sure our children’s lives are not determined based on their limb difference. There’s a challenging balance between giving our kids as normal a life as possible but also making sure they aren’t alone if they feel alone. There’s also the understanding that our kids tend to deal with repetitive stress injuries and pain so focusing on healthy exercise (like pilates) should be considered extra important. So I tried not to be overly dramatic when it comes to my daughter being in weddings. But I’m touched. I’m honored. I didn’t make a big deal about it to Jordan nor the wedding parties. But to see my beautiful daughter dressed up for a very important day, carrying a basket with her little arm and smiling SO BIG because she knows it’s a big deal… Well, it makes me tear up a little. I expected the world for Jordan after she was born but I didn’t expect everyone to give her it all without question.
