Lucky Fin Project

in 2011, limb difference community, Lucky Fin Project

I love finding community. I can tell you that a thousand times and I still want to say it again. I love finding community on a professional and personal level… especially when it comes to getting to know more families of kids with special needs… Obviously I am attracted to getting to know families with limb different kids. That’s why I was so excited to stumble into the Lucky Fin Project at the end of last year. My online friend Molly is creating super cool bracelets with a centerpiece bead that looks like a clown fish – you know, like Nemo and his lucky fin!

I discovered the Lucky Fin Project on Facebook right before Christmas. Molly was willing to mail our first set of bracelets to my parents’ house in Florida. Since then, Randy, Jordan, Cameron and I have bracelets that I handed out to everyone on Christmas day. Jordan and I each have two because I snagged a Valentine’s Day-themed Lucky Fin bracelet in February. Cameron LOVES his special bracelet because it was specially made with the colors of Griffyndor from Harry Potter. Seriously, Cam and I rarely take our bracelets off. We love them and we’re proud of the message. Here’s a quote from Molly’s brand new website:

I believe everybody is different. Some people’s differences are on the outside and easier to see than the differences others have on the inside. But EVERYBODY has got something and God doesn’t give challenges to those who can’t handle them. And in what ever your challenge, is a blessing worth celebrating.

Heck yeah!! Since today is Molly’s big day for her brand new site, I wanted to make sure the Born Just Right community knows about her awesome project. Each bracelet is a $10 donation and it includes shipping. 100 percent of the money she raises in the sale of a bracelet goes right back into the cost of making more bracelets! She ships them around the world with Lucky Fin pride! (This picture below was taken on Christmas Day right after Jordan got her first Lucky Fin bracelet.)

Congrats on your new site Molly!! I love watching the Lucky Fin Project grow!

I would love to buy some of those beautiful bracelets for family and friends. How do I go about doing that? Our family has been blessed by my granddaughter Aryanna. It would mean alot to me if we could find some. Thank you.
