Born This Way

It’s what Jordan tells people all the time when they ask about her arm. For a while she’d say “I was borned this way.” That was really cute.

So this morning, my newsroom was buzzing about the new Lady Gaga song. I figured I’d hear it eventually. I knew the name of it was “Born This Way” but I guess I didn’t think much about it at the time. But then a Facebook fan named Kim shared a link and I actually looked at the lyrics. They are actually really fun and empowering and worth enjoying.

Check it out:

Intro
It doesn’t matter if you love him, or capital H-I-M
Just put your paws up
’cause you were Born This Way, Baby

Verse
My Mama told me when I was young
We are all born stars
She rolled my hair and put my lipstick on
In the glass of her boudoir
“There’s nothing wrong with lovin’ who you are”
She said, “Cause he made you perfect, babe.”
“So hold your head up girl and you’ll go far,
Listen to me when I say”

Chorus
I’m beautiful in my way
Cause God makes no mistakes
I’m on the right track baby
I was born this way
Don’t hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you’re set
I’m on the right track baby
I was born this way

(You can view all of the lyrics here.)

Okay. Now that’s actually really cool. I expect to see Jordan dancing to this song later today. She’s been quite inspired in her dancing around the house lately. Maybe I’ll try to catch some video later.

Wow, great minds DO think alike. I heard a little bit of this song on Friday night but had no idea who sang it or what it was about really, so today I researched it and read the lyrics. I LOVED most of the lyrics, but can also see why you left some of them out. Before reading all of them I thought about doing a video of Ashlyn’s pictures to this song so that she will start learning to say this for herself. I’m not sure I can do that will ALL the lyrics present, but maybe I can find a way to “muffle” the parts I don’t like since Ashlyn repeats EVERYTHING. :)

I love this post btw!! So glad Ashlyn and I found you and Jordan!!

I love your blogs! just discovered them, don’t know how that took me so long. I’m not a fan of the sound of the song, but I LOVE the lyrics (and I’m a gaga fan).
Your daughter is precious! Great post
